Gold fell 1.3% yesterday even as the US launched strikes near the Strait of Hormuz and traffic through the chokepoint dropped to 19 ships — a third of already-depressed post-ceasefire levels. The metal is now down 24.2% from its January peak at $5,318. Turns out investors price geopolitical risk on the way in and price Fed policy on the way out, and right now 4.27% inflation with Treasury yields near 4.5% matters more than cruise missiles in the Gulf.
