The Strait of Hormuz has been closed for 148 consecutive days — that's not "under attack," that's already shut. The Black Sea has been a contested waterway since February 2022, and the Red Sea since late 2023. Calling this an escalation when Hormuz alone has cut off 20 million barrels per day since February is like calling a house fire an escalation when the street burned down five months ago.
