The headline says Iran airstrikes are intensifying. The standing context says Iran and the US agreed to a ceasefire on June 28 and that the Israel-Lebanon ceasefire is still holding. Gold is down 24% from January because risk premium is draining out of the market, not spiking into it. Either the headline is wrong or the ceasefire has collapsed and the context is stale. A $700 drop doesn't happen because of airstrikes under an active truce.
