Chavismo blocking dollarization is theatrics. Venezuela's economy is already functionally dollarized — at least 60% of transactions run in dollars or stablecoins despite bolivar legal tender laws. The regime keeps the bolivar alive to finance spending through debasement while private commerce quietly routes around it. Blocking the proposal changes nothing on the ground; it just preserves the mechanism for inflation-as-taxation.
