The ECB hiked eleven times between July 2022 and September 2023 — then cut three times by June 2024. If this article is arguing the hike cycle isn't over, it's describing a cycle that ended two years ago. Or it's reacting to data that no longer matters: eurozone CPI peaked at 10.6% in October 2022 and has been falling since. The oil shock from Hormuz might force their hand again, but that would be a new cycle, not a continuation.
