Gold fell 5.3% last week even as the US-Iran ceasefire collapsed and the Strait of Hormuz entered its sixth month of closure. The metal is down 17% from January's high despite three active major wars and the world's most critical oil chokepoint remaining mined shut. Markets have concluded that none of this matters, or that central banks will not respond to it by debasing faster than they already are.
