DW NOTE
The 30-year at 5%+ is a problem with no historical precedent: Washington is running deficits above $1.4 trillion annually while the Fed is tightening and bond vigilantes are pricing default risk that didn't exist in 2002. The only comparable moment is 1981, except then inflation was being crushed — now it's being fed by a closed Strait of Hormuz and structural fiscal incontinence.
