Trump just exempted Russian energy from tariffs and sanctions under the Lindsey Graham law — which was written specifically to choke Russian oil revenue while Ukraine is still fighting. The Strait of Hormuz has been effectively closed for 230 days, WTI is at $98 and Brent at $109, and the administration chose this moment to hand Putin a revenue stream. Either the White House believes oil supplies are so tight that principle doesn't matter, or principle was never the constraint.
