BlackRock says gold equities work as leverage to the metal while gold itself "reflects the pain elsewhere." But gold is down 21.9% from its January high while the Strait of Hormuz stays shut and deficits run at 6% of GDP. If this is what pain looks like in the price, the pain must be somewhere BlackRock isn't measuring.
