Silver has fallen 50% from its April 2026 peak of $107. Gold is down 25% from its January high. That's not a safe-haven rotation — that's investors liquidating whatever they can to meet margin calls in oil-linked obligations. The Strait of Hormuz has been effectively closed for eight months, crude is up 67% year-over-year, and precious metals are collapsing. The commodity that should benefit from supply shocks is oil. The one actually moving is the one you can't use to heat a building or fuel a truck.
