The Strait of Hormuz is already 53% blocked — daily transits fell from 51 to 24 between July 8th and 9th despite a nominal ceasefire. Any escalation that tightens it further doesn't raise oil prices, it raises the question of how long Western economies can function with one-fifth normal Persian Gulf throughput.
