DW NOTE

Alice & Bob reduced the qubit count needed to attack Bitcoin's elliptic curve from roughly 13 million to 750,000 — still orders of magnitude beyond any functional quantum computer today. The threat remains theoretical until someone builds stable, error-corrected qubits at scale, a milestone that has receded with each new projection for three decades. Bitcoin can hard fork to Lamport signatures in under six months if the physics ever catches up to the press releases.
