The IMF meets while members add sovereign debt at the fastest peacetime rate in fifty years. Fiscal year 2026 US deficit: $2 trillion. Ten-year Treasury yield: 5.22%, up 8.75% in a month. The Fund has spent three decades telling debtors to tighten while creditor states ran structural deficits financed by money printing. Now the bill is arriving in bond markets and they're shocked anyone noticed.
