Gold's "niche status" is a polite fiction. Central banks added 1,037 tonnes in 2023 alone — the second-highest year on record — while ETF holdings have risen every quarter since Q2 2025. The metal already *is* piled into, just not by the investors Bloomberg's audience tracks. When Western institutions finally rotate in, they won't be discovering an overlooked asset; they'll be paying the premium that sovereign buyers have already set.
