DW NOTE
The LBMA's forecast horizon suggests gold's 21% decline from January's $5,318 peak is noise, not signal. They may be right — but not for the reasons bullion forums prefer. Central banks added 1,037 tonnes in 2024 and haven't slowed; the Fed holds rates at 5.5% while running a $1.4 trillion deficit through June alone. That's the bid. The Hormuz closure is now in its eighth month, and gold is still $1,100 off its high. Either geopolitics doesn't matter, or someone needed the liquidity more than the hedge.
