Large asset managers are buying gold at $4,477 — 16% below its January peak — while the Strait of Hormuz enters its 193rd day of closure and 2,000 ships remain stranded in the Gulf. The price is a pullback from panic highs, not a deviation from fundamentals. When the world's primary oil chokepoint is mined shut and central banks are pricing in rate hikes at 4.77% yields, gold at $4,477 isn't cheap — it's the market pricing in that none of this resolves cleanly.
