Gold, silver rise as oil slides on U.S.-Iran pause - KITCO

Gold rose 1.2% and silver 3.8% as WTI crude fell 4.3% on reports of a temporary U.S.-Iran ceasefire. The bounce is mechanical positioning — oil has surged 27% in a month, precious metals have fallen 23-48% from their January peaks. A pause in bombing doesn't undo the supply shock or the fact that traders have been front-running inflation that hasn't stopped coming.
