The ECB paused and jobless claims improved, so yields rose and gold fell to $4,096 — down 23% from January's $5,318 peak. Meanwhile, the Strait of Hormuz has been effectively closed since February, Russian strikes killed 28 in Odesa this month alone, and global oil production is down 8.0 million barrels per day. Apparently none of that matters as much as one data print.
