DW NOTE
The Fed left rates at 3.75-4.00% in September with inflation still at 3.4% — well above target — and now gold is rallying because yields eased slightly from 5.27%. This is tactical noise. The structural picture is a central bank that has paused tightening while prices remain sticky and deficits run at $1.4 trillion. Gold dropped 21.9% from its January high for a reason: real rates finally turned positive. A softer dollar for a day doesn't change that.
