Central banks repatriated 483 tonnes of gold in the first half of 2026 — triple the prior year's pace. Poland moved 100 tonnes from London, India brought home 102 tonnes, China won't say. Gold at $4,430 is down 16.7% from January, but the point isn't the price. The point is where it's stored. A reserve asset you can't physically access isn't a reserve.
