The Strait of Hormuz has been shut for 247 days. Oil spiked 65% to $126 in February, then fell back to $104 today. Gold dropped 22% from its January high. And yet high-yield spreads sit at 3.09%, barely above peacetime levels. Either credit markets believe this resolves cleanly, or they haven't priced the second-order effects of the largest oil disruption in history combined with $1.9 trillion U.S. deficits and 3.7% inflation.
