The euro is firming against the dollar and yen before this week's central bank meetings, but currency strength in a supply shock tells you nothing about purchasing power. The Strait of Hormuz is in its eighth day of effective closure, oil supply is contracting 6% this year, and the dollar is weakening anyway — that's not euro resilience, that's reserve currency exhaustion in real time.
