DW NOTE
The Fed held rates at 3.75%–4% in a 10-2 vote, but the dissent matters more than the hold. Governor Lisa Cook and Cleveland Fed President Beth Hammack both wanted a quarter-point hike — the first time since 1992 a governor and a regional president have dissented together on the same side. With oil at $102 and the Strait of Hormuz still effectively closed, that dissent is a live option dressed up as a minority view.
