The BOK joins a list that now includes China, India, Poland, Singapore, and Turkey — all buying domestic gold in size since 2024. Central banks added 1,136 tonnes in 2024 alone. When monetary authorities start hoarding the asset they spent fifty years calling a barbarous relic, that's not diversification, that's a vote of no confidence in the dollar system they publicly defend.
